Farmer Kiona of Rocky Soil Family Farm will teach us t0 how to create a successful seasonal container garden to supply our kitchen with the best homegrown veggies for tastier meals. We will also enjoy nibbles inspired by our kitchen container garden, prepared by Chef Amy. This class will begin at the pavilion at Bannerman Crossings and end in the kitchen in the shop.

Calabacitas (Mexican side dish using zucchini and yellow squash)
This class is hands-on class.
We will have chilled water for you during the class; however, you are welcome to bring your own sip. We will have wine glasses for your beverage, should you choose to bring one. We do ask that you do not bring hard liquor.
All reservations for our classes are non-refundable, however, they are transferable to another guest. In the event you are unable to attend a class, please call the shop at your earliest convenience and provide the name you are transferring your reservation to. If you are unable to find a replacement and there is a waitlist for the class, we will do our best to fill your spot. If we are successful, we will apply your fee to a future class.

- What to plant for the season and which plants are happy growing together.
- Best planting and growing practices such as drainage, soil and the importance of local compost.
- What to feed your plants.
- How to deal with common diseases and insects.
- How to properly harvest each plant.
What is provided:
- Simple container
- Soil/compost
- Plants from Rocky Soil Family Farm, which include eggplant, basil, yellow squash, zucchini, green beans, yellow & red peppers.
What to bring with you:
- Gardening gloves
- 3-4 pots. The eggplant and peppers will need their own pots, but the other veggies can live happily with each other. *Make sure your pot(s) are not too large to transport in your vehicle.*
